Service intervals

Being an electrically driven robot with hub based motors, there aren't a lot of regular service items.

Tires - Weekly

Avvy can detect flat or low pressure tires and send a notification, so daily checks are not required. Under some circumstances Avvy can fail to detect flat tires, so we recommend checking tires weekly.

Axels - Weekly

If Avvy is pushing through longer grass or other fiberous material, its axels can become choked with debris. Avvy can detect debris around the axels, so daily checks are not required. However weekley checks are recommened.

Wheel Mounts - Monthly

Fibrations and impacts can lead to the wheel mounts becoming loose or damaged. We recommend checking the mounts monthly.

To check the left front wheel mount, lift the left side of Avvy and prop it up by sliding a block of wood under the left rear wheel. Once the vehicle is secure, take hold of the left front wheel and check for play in the mechanisim.

If there is no play then the check is complete and you can move onto the other wheels.

If there is play check to see if:

  1. The axle is loose in the mount.
    1. The axle can be tightened by first removing the plastic cable cover behind the mount.
    2. Tighten the axle bolt with a 21mm spanner.
  2. The wheel is loose on the axle.
    1. If the wheel is loose on the the axle, this can indicate a failed bearing. Contact support.
  3. The mount is loose on the vehicle.
    1. The axle can be tightened by first removing the plastic cable cover behind the mount.
    2. Tighten the 8MM bolts attaching the wheel mount to the frame. A 13mm spanner is required for the bolt and nut.
  4. The mount is damaged.
    1. Contact support.
